Section 5 - Special P/M Parts

Towanda Metadyne, Inc. manufactures special parts to customers based on defined physical dimensions, properties and customer supplied part prints. To properly define the part geometry, tolerances and acceptable properties, a complete description of the part is required. This information must be completely detailed at the time of the request. The checklist below is a guide to supplying the required information.

Procedure:

  1. Print available?, (if yes - go to Step 2), (if no - go to Step 3)
  2. Determine that the following information is detailed on the print:
    1. Print Number
    2. Description
    3. Revision Number
    4. Material Type, if not, select Towanda Metadyne, Inc. grade from Standard List on Page 1 of this procedure, taking into consideration necessary properties.
    5. Part Dimensions and associated Tolerances.
  3. Generate a physical description of the part that fully describes the part, physical properties (Hardness, Density, Percent Cobalt, Alloy Components), material type, and associated tolerances.
  4. Required quantities based on an expected yearly basis and typical release/order volume.
  5. Required delivery lead-time.
